Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know

Q: Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

Yes — multiple clinical studies and systematic reviews confirm that telehealth speech therapy and occupational therapy produce outcomes comparable to face-to-face care. In some cases, outcomes are better because parents and caregivers observe every session and carry over therapy skills at home more consistently. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) recognizes telepractice as an appropriate and effective service delivery model.

Q: Who are the services best suited for?

Services offered work well for children and adults who are comfortable with video interaction, families who want more scheduling flexibility, those in provincial areas without access to local clinicians, and overseas families seeking guidance.

Q: Who can benefit from your services?

Our services are available for toddlers, school-aged children, teens, and adults with communication, developmental, learning, cognitive, sensory, or functional support needs. We also support caregivers and family members who want to better understand and confidently assist their loved ones

Q: How does online therapy work?

Sessions are conducted through a secure online video platform where clients meet with their therapist or educator in real time. Activities, guidance, and resources are shared digitally to create engaging and interactive sessions.

Q: What do I need for online sessions?

You need: a device with a camera and microphone (tablet, laptop, or desktop), a stable internet connection, a quiet space with good lighting, and secured video platform (we'll guide you through setup).

Q: How long are sessions?

Standard sessions are 60 minutes but may vary depending on the service and individual needs. Therapy time usually lasts 45-50mins. and 10-15mins. of therapist notes or feedback.

Q: Can I attend the session with my loved ones?

Yes — and we strongly encourage it, especially for younger children and early intervention. Parent participation is one of the greatest advantages of online therapy. You observe the techniques your therapist uses, learn how to support your loved ones at home, and build confidence as a co-therapist. For older children, teenagers and adults, your therapist /educator may recommend partial participation to promote independence.

Q: How often are sessions recommended?

Frequency depends on the individual's goals, needs, and recommendations from the therapist or educator. Many clients attend sessions once or twice weekly for consistency and progress.
